Vindicating! Female orgasm has always been a topic that has interested me. Probably because it was only by accident that at age 20 (I'm now 35 - almost 36), I stumbled upon some information on the role of the clitoris in female orgasm. Up until that point, I didn't even know what a clitoris was - and I'm female!! Why was it not mentioned in sex education courses? Why had my parents never told me about it when they told me about sex? Why did none of my girlfriends know about it?

I couldn't believe that I was so in the dark about my own sexuality. Even though the information was "out there," in many ways it wasn't. It seems that what I, and everyone I knew, thought was that women had orgasms the same way men did: through sexual intercourse (no hands involved).

Needless to say, my discovery of the clitoris led to further reading and my first orgasm! It is difficult to describe HOW HAPPY I felt about it. Not only did I now know that there was nothing wrong with me (I could have orgasms), but I felt more complete as a person because I was now able to experience something (quite pleasurable) that everyone else seemed to be experiencing except for me.

After that, I never had trouble being orgasmic with a partner. I think because I have always, almost instinctually, applied pressure to that area during intercourse (method suggested in Five Minutes to Orgasm Every Time You Make Love: Female Orgasm Made Simple). Doing so seemed quite natural; it made me have an orgasm very quickly.

But, what gets me is that many of my female friends, now in their mid thirties like myself, continue to have sex without orgasms. Some tell me that they don't care about orgasms that much. Others that they have NEVER had one and would never learn how to have one on their own, while others simply could not tell their partners what they need, or "even worse," touch themselves in front of their partner during sex; so many of them go without and sometimes even fake it.

I caught an episode of "Lucky Louie" on HBO about the Big O. Louie's wife accidentally has her first orgasm. But when they try to recreate the magic, Kim's orgasm eludes them. I bought this book hoping to learn more about how to make sure that my wonderful wife will be very satisfied every time. Claire Hutchins definitely has strong and well supported position about women's sexuality and certain associated issues. I agree with her that it is not necessary for men to be fully responsible for the sexual satisfaction of their partners (any more). Intimacy should be fun, pleasant and an opportunity to get rid of stress and tension not the opposite. I am thankful to the author for encouraging and empowering my sweetheart to feel more in charge of her orgasms than she used to. Similar thing happened with me after I easily became multi-orgasmic thanks to the bestseller scientificlly guaranteed male multiple orgasms and ultimate sex. I have always had to have oral sex in order to have an orgasm, until my partner convinced me to try the formula in this book. This book takes the unusual point of view that it's not my partner's responsibility. I resented this idea at first, but the author made her point. I really liked this book for the very reason that it offers a simple solution to a common problem. The whole point of the book is that women are responsible for their own orgasms and that it is not necessary to rely on a man to "give" us one. This is a new approach. The ability to reach a "quick" orgasm if you're a woman is rarely addressed in those technical books which require long hours trying to learn a technique that is too complicated. I've always used this technique. But I always felt bad about it. I've absorbed the cultural messages that as a woman, I should come when a man is doing what makes him come. It's so ridiculous! What I liked best about this book is that it treats women as if their bodies will react in predictable ways if the right buttons are pushed, and the author doesn't leave pushing the correct buttons solely up to the man. Why indeed, are women so varied in plumbing and psychology that many have dificulty achieving orgasm at all and yet almost all men achieve orgasm quite easily (at least while young)? Answer - they are NOT! Women are entitled to achieve orgasms just like men. You don't have to feel self-conscious. participated in one of Hutchins's surveys, so I'm prejudiced in the author's favor. This book is written for women who have trouble reaching orgasm during intercourse. It presents a simple, to-the-point way to solve that problem. If you are looking for books on romance or technique, this is not it. It presents the problem, then shows you how to solve it.

I don't want a man to "lead" me to or "make" me orgasm! We don't use the same language when it comes to men! With its focus on physiology rather than psychology, this book shows women how to be responsible for their own orgasms. Low libido is a real issue for many women, but for the vast majority of couples, what is needed is not a pill, but respect for the differences in male and female sexual response.

Some people just don't get it. But if you need and want sure-fire relief, this is where you'll find it!~S.G.

This little book is an entertaining and informative sex manual about how to have an orgasm without resorting to oral sex, vibrators or extended male thrusting (to the point of exhaustion for both partners). The author doesn't regurgitate the usual advice of teaching your male partners what to do. She encourages the woman to take charge. The female reaching orgasm shouldn't be hard work for either partner, which is what a lot of sex manuals make it. This book is very helpful for all those women out there who think there's something wrong with them I was almost at the point of giving up hope altogether, but, after reading a recommendation by an Internet sex therapist, I bought this book, and it was one of the best buys of my life. It is easy to understand and gets to the point without dilly-dallying around what amounts to nothing more than relationship advice. I found it to be very educational.
